I have just started reading this book. One of the passions in life for me is browsing bookshops so this is right up my street. Although I am a kindle owner and all or nearly all the books I read are digital, sometimes you cannot help yourself going into bookshops and physically picking up a book.
What a book about one of the greatest minds and generals of the ninteenth centuary. I never realised how much of a reader and intellect he was. A lot of the reforms he made are still in use today in France. Just unfortunate that the European monarchs at the time thought he was an upstart.
